Elizabeth and Michael - A Spring Wedding at the Club at Lac La Belle

The who, what, where, and when of your proposal story:

Elizabeth had hinted at an engagement for awhile sharing with Michael her several dream wedding Pinterest boards carefully curated since she was 10. One week in November Elizabeth had to head to Chicago for a client meeting. After catching the 5pm train and heading home Elizabeth just wanted to relax. She came home to fresh baked cookies and immediately thought something was up. Michael was acting suspicious. And he baked?!? Although they were from a tube, Elizabeth appreciated the gesture. There was a gift too? What was going on? As Elizabeth opened the gift it was a stuffed animal. A puppy - something she had wanted for years. Happy enough with that she didn’t notice the sparkly ring attached to the dogs collar! Michael got down on one knee and proposed in their living room, just the two of them. Elizabeth was so thrown off that the proposal happened on a Thursday. I mean who gets proposed on a Thursday? (Something she kept saying to Michael not even realizing if she answered the question). He wanted to surprise her since that was hard to do. After a long day in Chicago for a work trip was perfect - she never assumed it’d happen then! That weekend the two shared the news with their immediate family. And they told close friends during Friendsgiving parties over the next few days thereafter. November 18, 2021.

Describe your wedding in three words:
Perfect, memorable, a blur

Three things that made you both smile:
First look, gifting my niece, Emma (flower girl) a charm that read “Emma, today you are a flower girl, but one day you’ll hold the bouquet. Keep this charm as your something old for your wedding day. Live Aunt Elizabeth. 5.13.2023”, and ceremony (seeing Elizabeth walk down the aisle).

What advice would you give to a bride planning her wedding?
Don’t drink red wine (lol). But in all seriousness, don’t sweat the small stuff. You’re surrounded by so much love. Lean on those around you to help as much as you can. And do a first look! We were in the fence initially about one but I didn’t realize how much it’d mean to me to do one. Having that moment, just the two of us, was more precious than I could have ever imagined.

What are three things that made your wedding unique to you two?
Unity Tree, Gnome cake toppers, T-shirt toss for grand March

Three things you love about each other:
We can always make each other laugh, are both hardworking, and personalities that go together like PB&J

What was your first dance song?
Real Love by Tyler Rich

The end.
