Looking at the Light
Hello, sweet friends!
How's life going?
Have you caught the sunset recently? They've been amazing.
What's making you feel alive these days?
For me, it's watching the shadows change and the sun rays illuminate things.
Today I was thinking about how cool it is that God made light. Right after making the heavens and the earth, he made the light. He didn’t have to make the light. But he did. It’s a most beautiful gift.
I love chasing down the sunset and watching the leaves flicker and glow as the sun goes down. And I love the way it cuts through the clouds and makes the sky explode into a symphony of color. But sometimes I think about how the Bible says that in heaven we won't need the sun or the moon because God himself will be the light (Revelation 22:5). I wonder what that will look like.
But for now, I love how God puts creativity on display every day through the sun and the moon and the stars in the sky. It’s like an art gallery—but no tickets are necessary to look in wonder at the things he's made.
What a gracious gift it is to see the light. What a wild and wonderful thing it is that God is the light.
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
