Rachel and Josh - A Wisconsin Wedding at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center
The who, what, where, and when of your proposal story:
Josh proposed to Rachel on January 22, 2023 on a snowy and wintery day at Retzer Nature Center exactly on our one and a half year of dating anniversary. It was absolutely beautiful and so romantic as in the midst of trees dusted with snow, Josh got down on one knee and asked Rachel to spend the rest of her life with him.
Describe your wedding in three words:
Surreal, genuine, enrapturing
What are three things that made your wedding unique to you two?
Our marriage ceremony was centered on Christ, we elected to write personal letters/vows to each other in addition to traditional vows, we incorporated elements into the ceremony/reception that resembled the unconditional love we have for each other and promised to each other in our marriage.
What advice would you give to a bride planning her wedding?
1) Remember to carve out time to continue dating your fiancé throughout the planning. Don't let every time you spend time together be about the wedding... go for a walk, get ice cream, watch a movie. When you do have wedding planning conversations together, find a way to make it enjoyable. 2) Find 1-3 people to be your right hand person/people the day of the wedding and hand off the details to them at least a week before the wedding so you can step back and absorb every single moment of your special day with your new husband, family and friends. A wedding should and will likely only happen one time in your life! :)
Three things that made you both smile:
The overwhelming love and support of family and friends, seeing each other for the first time when Rachel walked down the aisle, dancing with our friends and family
What was your first dance song?
I Cross My Heart - George Strait
Three things you love about each other:
Playfulness between us, each others commitment to be the best person for one another, servant heartedness we each strive for daily.
