Chris and Cara | Rustic Wedding at The Hay Loft Barn | Watertown Wedding Photographer
I pulled up to the Hay Loft Barn. A slight breeze and mist met me on my journey to the renovated structure. A little rain never hurt anyone. The sparkly lights that hung from the ceiling created an atmosphere of warmth. The brightly colored bouquets made me smile, as I remembered the first time I met Chris and Cara and their vibrant personalities. Yes, this was the right place. The aesthetics and details were exactly what I expected for their wedding day.
THE FIRST LOOK
He stood there in nervously in anticipation. Waiting for his bride. She quietly walked up behind him, exhaled and touched his shoulder. He turned around and the smiled the best smile. I heard him choke up a little bit, both a tad speechless, both smiling the biggest smiles, this was the moment that they realized it was happening. In less than an hour, they would promise each other forever.
HER SPEECH
She held the microphone in her right hand, her husband's arm around her waist. Her best friends on her left and right. The room grew quiet. Her voice shook a little. Happy tears fell from her eyes and a smile brighter than all the lights in the room lit up her face. She thanked her family, her friends and the people around her. "This has been the best day of my entire life". It was the most genuine display of gratitude. She spoke of how thankful she was that her Grandma from Colorado could be there, her friends from out of town, and how much it meant to her to have her family celebrating with her. The words of sincerity and grace matched the brilliance of the occasion. Cara, once again, spoke words of kindness and life to those around her like only Cara knows how. Chris stood there smiling at his bride because each word she spoke echoed his thoughts exactly. Happiness and gratitude.
