I met up with the Murdoch at Retzer Nature center for their family photos, and it was all sorts of lovely.
Seriously, they are such a kind and beautiful family!
It was a little chilly, and the sunshine stayed behind the clouds for most of the day, but you don’t have to ask me twice if I want to drive out to the country to take photos. Anna and Emma love music and animals, and horses so it made sense to snap some of their senior photos at Integrity farm in Oconomowoc.
If you know me, you know that I love anything cute and quaint, so this session was right up my alley.
Emma and Anna have been riding for the past four and a half years and they have such a knack with animals, I was surprised at how calm and comfortable the horses were during out session. Their dog, Archie, also joined in and it was sweet to have them all together in one photo :).

One of the things that stands out to me about Natalie is that she is endlessly loyal and dedicated to her family and friends. She has a gentle, but at the same time, energetic personality that makes her someone that people want to go to when you need someone to listen or lean on. After graduation, she hopes to study Psychology and one day work with kids as a counselor. Which seems really fitting from what I know to be true about Natalie! I know that she wants to serve and help others with her talents and gifts, and I’m already proud of all of the ways that she will go on to make the world just a little bit brighter.
We met up in Downtown Delafield for her senior photos and the colors were just starting to change! It was a chilly and windy day, but it’s hard to tell that from these photos! Enjoy your scroll through some of my favorite snapshots.
Natalie,
I love the way you love Jesus and the people around you! It’s so clear that you want to follow him in everything you’re doing.
Keep up the hard work during this final year of high school! Cheering for you along the way!
Much love,
Carley
Sweet Ella is graduating high school! Ella is easy-going, considerate, and authentic. She wants to pursue nursing after graduating which makes sense because Ella is quick to make sure that the people around her are comfortable. She really cares about others. I think that’s evident by the way she communicates–with lots of questions about how YOU are. She is quick to listen and respond with affirmation and empathy–two things that make people feel very understood and important. We met up at Retzer Nature Center for her photos and had a lovely time hiking around and enjoying the Fall weather. Enjoy some of my favorite photos from our time together.
Read MoreJessica and Matt welcomed their sweet little boy into the world on October 4th. I got to meet him when he was just ten days old and he’s a tiny little bundle of cuteness. I don’t usually feel like I’m going to melt into a puddle when I look at photos, but these three are so adorable together and I kind of did. If you’ve heard someone going “Aww” every five seconds today while editing photos today, that was me. Enjoy some of my favorite photos from their in-home lifestyle session.
Read MoreLucia is a mix of kindness, sweetness, and fun! We met up at Retzer Nature Center in Waukesha for her Senior photos. It was a chilly 39 degrees, but Lucia had the biggest smile on her face the whole time and made it look like a perfectly warm day–this girl is up for anything! That’s one of the things I love about Lucia, she’s spontaneous and carefree–the type of person that you would call if you wanted to go and get ice cream at midnight. Always ready for an adventure. She’s also super smart and is thinking of possibly becoming a lawyer after high school. But whatever she does I hope she always keeps that smile on her face and that kindness in her heart.

Introducing Bri & Joe.
It was an overcast Sunday evening, the last little bit of summer weather was holding on, and a few rays of sunlight glimmered through the clouds. The epitome of the beginning of fall. Bri and Joe are two of the most creative people I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. They met in college where they were both studying graphic design and Joe actually proposed with this incredible art piece that he worked on for months before popping the question. I kind of wish I could illustrate stories like that, but for now, I’ll stick to documenting people’s relationships with my camera :) Enjoy some of my favorite photos from their Lapham Peak engagement session last week!
Bri & Joe,
I’m beyond honored to be a small part of documenting your story!
Here’s to lots of new adventures together!
Can’t wait for your wedding next year, if it’s anything like last week, it’s going to be 100% lovely.
Much love,
Carley
Erica and Jordan are the type of people that you just instantly get along with because they seem to welcome everyone and anyone with wide-open arms. I had an amazing time exploring High Cliff State Park with them for their engagement session. It was my first time there, and if you know me, you know I LOVE the great outdoors, so say no more than “State Park” and I’m there. The colors were just starting to change and the vivid shades of orange and red and it made all of the scenery just a little more lovely.
