I met up with the Murdoch at Retzer Nature center for their family photos, and it was all sorts of lovely.
Seriously, they are such a kind and beautiful family!

I never really understood the importance of family photos until I had a mom describe to me how much it means to be able to see smiling photos of her kids on the hard days of parenting. Like when kids wake up multiple times throughout the night, throw temper tantrums, or start screaming at the top of their lungs. I’ve been told that when holding a fussy baby that just won’t go back to sleep, there’s a certain type of frustration and extreme exhaustion that sets in, but that having photos to look back on can bring a certain type of calm into the situation. It’s neat to know that photos can make things feel a little less crazy and more like blessings.
