Sweet Sophia is graduating. I don’t know why everyone I photograph is like a bright ray of sunshine, but I’m more than okay with it.
Sophia has such a kind heart, is super smart, and is an all around a lovely human being. I feel like Sophia is the friend that you would go to if you were having a bad day and needed someone to give you a hug and tell you to straighten your shoulders and keep your head held high.

Whenever I stop to think about it long enough, I feel so fortunate that I get to take photos of high school seniors. When I was a senior, my world felt like it was flipped over and shaken like a snow globe–it was confusing, hard, and more often than not, I was scared. It’s a blessing to get to meet people in the same spot that I was in and make them smile and feel beautiful even for just an hour or two. I hope the photos that I take are a reminder to each person that they are loved, beautiful, and valuable. And that if their world ever gets flipped upside down that they can remember that, in the midst of the stormy weather, they are still loved, valued and beautiful.
