Sarah & Alec’s Stunning Family Property Wedding in Kiel, WI
Sarah and Alec’s wedding day was everything you’d hope for in an October celebration—blue skies, peak fall colors, and family and friends from near and far. Their ceremony took place at a family property in Kiel, WI, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. We also made a quick stop at a nearby Christmas tree farm for wedding party photos, which added a fun and unique touch to their day. It was the perfect blend of personal and picturesque, and I’m so excited to share a little glimpse into their celebration!
Can you share the details of your proposal story—who was involved, what happened, where it took place, and when it all unfolded?
Alec knew I dod not want a big production or lots of people around, so our proposal was in the comfort of our home with our pups, which is exactly how I pictured it!
What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
There's so many, but one of them was the grooms sisters speech and the clock that she gifted us! It made me ugly cry!
Can you share a memorable or funny story from your wedding day?
Alec blurted "I Do" before the officiant was even done speaking!
How did your family and friends contribute to making your wedding day special?
We were very fortunate that the grooms cousin and his wife allowed us to use their property and barn for our wedding. It took a significant amount of cleaning and work throughout the summer to make it as beautiful as it was and we have so many family members to thank for their hard work! And their neighbor was so kind in offering her tree farm for our photos!
How did Carley contribute to making your wedding day stress-free and enjoyable?
She is so laid back and is great at directing everyone on what to do and how to pose!
How did you feel when you first saw your wedding photos?
We love our photos! She did a great job at capturing all of the beautiful colors. My favorites are the candids and the photos of the small, random details that I never would have thought to photograph! They all turned out exactly as I had hoped!
How did you feel about being photographed on your wedding day?
I feel that I am very awkward in front of the camera no matter what day it is, but Carley made me feel as least awkward as possible!
Do you have any shoutouts or thank yous for family, friends, or vendors?
Of course Mitchell and Kayla Haag who own the property and the barn. We also had SO many people compliment the food- Parker Johns did a great job. Guests were also raving about the cupcakes- Libby with It's A Sweet Life is an in home bakery with SO MANY flavors to choose from. And finally the flowers- Heidi at Ren's Floral delivered and set everything up, and we got so many compliments on how gorgeous the flowers were!
