Rainy days, twirly dresses, shiny shoes, imagination, and a whole lot of curiosity. I met the Hytinen family last Sunday at Veterans Memorial Riverwalk for their family session. It was a gloomy day for a photo session, and we almost got rained out, but the clouds cleared for just the right amount of time and the sun even said “hello” for a few minutes and we were able to capture these photos. At family sessions, I let kids be kids. Running through the woods, climbing trees, throwing sticks into the water, and hop-skipping down gravel paths. It’s the little things–the silly expressions, the curiosity, and creativity that I love to document.

Family photos are special to me because even though they feel like a fancy ordeal, at the core, they’re simple. They’re just heartfelt moments that happen every day.
