3 Easy Tips That Every Bride Should Know For Their Getting Ready Photos | Carley Marie Photography
I'm a planner, a to-do list maker, and an organizer. I like knowing the details. You too, right?
Which is precisely why I am outlining how to ensure that your getting ready photos are the best they can be!
If you follow these three tips beforehand you'll have all the time you need to throw some confetti, twirl in your wedding dress and take every moment in. You take care of being with your friends and family, and I'll take care of taking the pretty photos :)
Let's make your day extra lovely and wonderful!
1. Get ready in a room with plenty of natural light!
The secret to bright and airy photographs? Bright and airy light! It's not really much of a secret, but it's easy to overlook the obvious so that's why I'm bringing it up! Large windows are a photographers dream when it comes to photographing details and getting ready shots!
Pro tip: Look for rooms with light and neutral colored walls. Neutral colors reflect neutral colored light which works best for natural-looking skin tones. . .avoid the neon green Sunday school room if at all possible ;)
2. Have all of your details in one box.
Have your Mom or maid of honor gather your jewelry, perfume, shoes, invitation suite, and any other items that you would like to have photographed into one box the day before your wedding. That way you will ensure that everything is ready to go and in one place for when your photographer arrives. No mess, no stress :)
Pro tip: Have your ring cleaned for optimal sparkle! Feel free to include personal and sentimental items in your box, like a letter that your grandma wrote to you when you got engaged, or the first polaroid you and future husband took together, etc. they'll add a very personal touch to your detail shots!
3. Don't forget a dress hanger!
A classic wood, metal, or custom hanger vs. plastic one will yield a timeless and classic aesthetic. If you're feeling extra fancy, have your bridesmaids hang their dresses on metal or wood hangers as well. These little details really make a difference!
Pro tip: Remove any tags from your dress and have your bridesmaids do the same before the day of your wedding, that way you're not looking for scissors the day of.
