Rustic Elegance: Kori and Ryan's Beautiful Barn Wedding at Homestead Hollow

Kori and Ryan’s wedding day at The Barn at Homestead Hollow in Germantown was a perfect blend of rustic charm and timeless elegance. The September sky was a clear blue, and the subtle hues of Fall added just the right touch of warmth to their big day. Surrounded by friends and family, Kori and Ryan celebrated their love in a venue that captured the essence of their laid-back, yet refined style. As a photographer, it’s always a joy to work with a couple as easygoing and fun as Kori and Ryan – their warmth and kindness made capturing every moment so easy.

What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?

I think my favorite moment was dancing around on the patio outside the barn. We were so tired and sweaty at that point, but being in the dark with the string lights above was so cool. It was so hot in the barn and cooler outside, and without all the guests around us it was great to have focus on each other for just a moment.

How did your family and friends contribute to making your wedding day special?

Honestly everyone was truly excited to be there. We went from 120 people to around 75 and everyone was smiling and seemed to be having a great time. With so much work put into the wedding to make it a great time for all of our guests, it was a huge relieve and gave both of us the ability to truly relax and have a fun time ourselves.

How did Carley contribute to making your wedding day stress-free and enjoyable?

I did not hire a wedding planner, and since our venue was at a county park, I didn't even have a person at the venue to help with anything or answer many questions. When the subject of timeline came up, I panicked. I didn't have anyone that could really help with that, but Carley was able to lay it out for me exactly how it needed to be. She gave me an outline and then helped me work out how things needed to go with a strong lead that I really needed in that moment. I am so grateful that she swooped in and saved the day with that one.

How did you feel when you first saw your wedding photos?

So. So. So. Incredibly happy. The colors are just amazing. There are so many we loved, I printed out almost every single one for an album. I will probably need 3 albums to keep them all.

How did your wedding photography experience make you feel, and what stood out to you about the process?

Carley is truly the sweetest person and she was just so great to work with. I was never worried that she wasn't getting a picture I wanted. She was great at directing people where to go and how to stand which got us so many great pictures.

Can you share a memorable or funny story from your wedding day?

I had seen a few videos of other brides doing this, and I loved it so much I had to as well. After all the speeches were done, I took the mic and my bouquet, thanked our guests, and told my mom I was dedicating the bouquet to her. She cried, and she said she loved that moment so much. I was surprised when I went to her house and saw it dried, mounted on her wall. Its still so beautiful and I'm so grateful to have pictures of that as well.

How did you feel about being photographed on your wedding day?

We felt so comfortable! That's really what stood out to us the most. For two people that hardly ever even take a selfie, we got so many great photos of the two of us and it really is because of how wonderful Carley is and how we didn't feel awkward at all.

Do you have any shoutouts or thank yous for family, friends, or vendors?

Our officiant, Steve Kendziora, was so awesome. He helped us out a lot along the way and did an excellent job officiating exactly how we wanted it to be.
