How to Have the Best Day Ever | Free Card Printable

I've been reading about the psychology of reactions and effects of negativity and have come to the conclusion that our first thought or reaction when we wake up can/will determine how the rest of our day will go.

Because of this, I have tried changing my mindset from "Waking up early is painful and I hate my alarm clock" to "I enjoy waking up early and (believe it or not) I am glad that I have an alarm clock that lets me know when it is morning." And when I wake up instead of being groggy and grumpy I've decided to say  "This is going to be the best day ever!" Whether or not my day is going to be the "best day ever", I've found that the simple act of telling myself that it is puts me on the right track to having an amazing day. 

Since I've been waking up earlier I've had extra time to draw and be creative. Here's a rough draft of a book idea I had: "Hello Sunshine". I also found a compass and have really enjoyed making circular designs. Here are two of my favorites.

Everyone can use some encouragement so I made some greeting cards out of the above designs for you to print out and send to a friend (or 25 friends) that could use some sunshine! Just print, fold in half and cut. (For best results print on cardstock and be sure to uncheck "Fit to Page" in the printing options - that way everything stays centered.) I think it's rare that we will spontaneously have "Good Days". More often than not, having a good day is entirely dependent on our attitudes and the choices we make. It's a bad idea to base our joy off of our circumstances or the weather or how we feel, all of those things change. I think it's a good idea to rejoice in the God that never changes and to be glad in the day he has created. 

I know it's easier said than done but there's no harm in trying. Who knows, you might find that the more you practice being positive the more you will find to be positive about.

Today is just as good of a candidate for the "Best Day Ever" than any other - make it great!
